Advancing Knowledge and Learning


1. Co-ordinate, update and maintain product metadata with focus on metadata required for frontlist titles to ensure data and/or files are ready for distribution by the publication date.

2. Work across multiple OUP systems, including Oxford Publish, SAP, STAR, Filemaker and CoreSource to monitor, analyze and correct data.

3. Engage with bibliographic data owners to ensure timely and accurate supply of required product metadata. Provide guidance and technical expertise as needed to assist in resolving errors and ensure data meets data integration and governance requirements.

4. As a subject matter expert, provide knowledge and support to allow projects and process improvement initiatives to make decisions. Complete product data work required for successful completion of projects.

5. Recommend and implement process and procedure changes relating to product data, including integrations across OUP's systems in response to change initiatives.

6. Maintain shared email inboxes, alongside team, addressing queries in a timely fashion.

7. Engage with external partners and industry bodies to ensure data feeds are accurate and in-line with current industry standards.

8. Provide product data metrics for distribution to relevant stakeholders working alongside other team members to design useful reporting for key stakeholders.

9. Create and maintain group documentation, including instruction manuals and training materials.


  • Intermediate IT skills, including Word, Excel, and ideally experience working with a database.
  • Good organizational skills, an ability to manage time well and work as part of a team.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail

Position Location: This position can be fully remote. This is a part-time, 6 month contract position.

GJC Level: S3 (for internal purposes only)
